How to Generate an Audio Preview from a Script

You can turn your script into an AI-generated audio spot on select products. Choose from a collection of music beds and AI-generated synthetic voices, and in a minute, you’ll have an audio preview of your audio ad script. These audio previews are great for sending to clients or potential clients to give them an idea of how the ad sounds before sending it to final production.

Getting Started

If the Audio Previews tool is available for your script, you’ll see the following area below the script. Please note that Audio Previews are not available on some older scripts.

Click “Create a Preview” to get started. The experience will depend on if your script has one voice or multiple voices.

If your script has more than one voice such as a man and a woman talking to each other, then we’ve made it easy to generate an Audio Preview with only a couple of clicks.

We’ll choose the voices for you based on the genders specified in the script. All you have to do is choose the kind of music you want to play in the background. Don’t want music? No problem, just leave it blank.

Optionally, you can choose voices yourself by clicking on “generate a preview with custom settings…”.

Click “Generate Preview”. In less than a minute, you can playback the generated audio! Want to hear something different? Click “Generate Preview” again to hear different voices or click “generate a preview with custom settings” to pick the voices you want.

If your script has one voice such as a single announcer with no one else talking, then select the voice you want to have read the script. Optionally, you can choose background music, too. Click “Generate Preview”.

In less than a minute, you can playback the generated audio. Want to hear something different? Choose a different voice and/or music bed and then click “Generate Preview” again.

Choosing Voices for Your Audio Preview

Find the perfect voice for your Audio Preview with our growing library of synthetic voices. See below how to browse and preview voices for your script.

As synthetic voice technology improves, we continue to curate a range of voice options that are best for audio ads. Please listen carefully to the audio that is generated as word pronunciations and inflections will vary depending on the chosen voice.

To open the library of voices, click the “Select a voice…” field. A pop-up window will appear showing a list of voices on the right and controls for filtering the list on the left. See the image below for a breakdown of each item in the window.

Please note, any voice direction included in the script will be ignored in the Audio Preview. Only the voice or voices that are selected when you generate the Audio Preview will be used.

Tips for finding the best voice for your script:

Start with Gender - Start by deciding if it matters which gender the voice should be. That will help you to narrow down the list of available voices. Choose “Female” or “Male” from the Gender filter found on the left.

Use Accents - There are various accents found in the collection of voices. Looking for an accent to match the region where the ad will run? Use the Accent filter on the left to pick from several region-specific accents such as “US - Southern American English”.

Use Voice Styles - Each voice has been attributed with different voice types such as Confident, Smooth, Professional, and more. Looking for a deep, rough voice? Use the Tone/Style filter on the left to narrow the list to voices marked as “Deep” and “Gruff”.

Try a Character Voice - Looking for a cowboy voice or maybe Santa Claus? Check the “Character” box in the Tone/Style filter on the left to see all of our character voices.

Choosing Music for Your Audio Preview

In addition to growing our voice library, we continue to grow our collection of music beds for use in your Audio Previews.

Music is optional, but if you do want to include music in your Audio Preview, click the “Select music (optional)...” field. A pop-up window will appear showing a list of songs on the right and controls for filtering the list on the left. See the image below for a breakdown of each item in the window.

Please note, any music direction present in the script will be ignored in the Audio Preview. Only the music bed that is selected when you generate the Audio Preview will be included.

How Do Sound Effects Work in Audio Previews?

You may have sound effects included in your script. If the sound effect is playable, meaning it has a play button next to it in the script and you can play that sound effect, then that sound effect will be included in the generated Audio Preview.

If the sound effect in the script is not playable, meaning there is no play button next to it, then white noise will play where that sound effect should be included in the generated Audio Preview.

How Do I Download an Audio Preview?

Once you’ve created an Audio Preview you are happy with, you can download a stereo .wav file of it.

Find the Audio Preview you want to download and click the three dots on the right side of the player. Then click “Download File”.

Send the file to clients or production staff to give them an idea of how the script could sound before it is produced to go on-air.
